Song Pop review

Song Pop is a Facebook game from FreshPlanet that challenges players to prove who has the best song-identification skills. The game is available on Facebook, Android and iOS, and all three versions are able to compete against each other through Facebook connectivity or the game’s own proprietary username system.

Song Pop is a straightforward multiple-choice quiz game. When beginning a new challenge, players choose a playlist of songs which their questions will be based on, and are then played five song clips during which they must identify either the title or the artist as quickly as possible. Points are scored if the answer was correct, with bonus points being awarded if the player was quick to respond and if they correctly answer several questions in a row. As the player scores points, they earn progress towards five “stars” in a playlist, with new songs in the playlist unlocking when each star is filled.
Once five questions have been answered, the challenge is sent to another player, at which point they answer the same questions with a twist: they can see what the other player responded and their score at the beginning of each new question. This gives a good feeling of “live” competition despite the fact that play is completely asynchronous.
When both players have had a shot at the questions, the scores are totalled and a winner is declared. The songs that were used are also shown with a link to iTunes to purchase them. The winner is also awarded with three coins, while the loser gets just one. The last player to play then has the option of starting a new round with one of three playlists.
As the game progresses, the player unlocks the ability to use “powerup” items. These may be purchased using coins, and may be used either to pick three new available playlists upon starting a new challenge, or removing two incorrect answers from the four possible responses to a question. Coins may also be spent on unlocking new playlists for greater variety, and may be purchased using mobile phone, PayPal or credit card for those too impatient to earn them themselves. Oddly, though, there is no Facebook Credits support.
Song Pop is entirely social — there is no single-player component to the game at all. If players do not have any Facebook friends playing, they may start new games with either random opponents or by typing in a specific player’s username. When sending challenges to Facebook friends, the player also has the option of sending an app request to their prospective opponent, but the game does not post to players’ Timelines.

Song Pop is a simple idea that is implemented very well. “Name That Tune”-style games are easy enough for anyone to understand, and the musical styles covered in the various playlists provide a wide variety of material suitable for all ages. International players are also catered to with a variety of specialist playlists for American, British, Spanish, French, German, Italian and Brazilian music. How well the game will monetize in the long term remains to be seen, but there is certainly plenty of content available for players to get their teeth into, and it will be a relatively simple matter for FreshPlanet to incorporate additional playlists.

Stormfall: Age of War Basics
  • In order to successfully run your castle, you need resources, and as in any medieval time, you need them bad! In Stormfall: Age of War, there are three resources that you can gather.
  • In order to see how many resources you have, and how many resources are produced, you can check the statistics in the top left corner of the screen. The production number is the amount of resources you are currently receiving every hour. You will want to try and produce approximately the same amount of each of the resources to grow your base most effectively.
Stormfall: Age of War
  • Gold is earned through residents that live in townhouses. These townhouses must be build upon an encampment. While titanium is needed for producing or upgrading everything, it is mostly used for training defensive troops.
Stormfall: Age of War
  • Iron is collected from the mines. These mines must be build upon a ore field. While titanium is needed for producing or upgrading everything, it is mostly used for training offensive troops.
Stormfall: Age of War
  • Food is produced on a farm, which can be build anywhere. are earned by gathering taxes, which are collected by vaults. While credits are needed for producing or upgrading everything, it is mostly used for maintaining the troops on the parade ground.
Stormfall: Age of War
  • Around the outskirts of your base you will find some things standing out from just your regular environment. Click on a boar for extra food. Click on the troll with the gold to gather extra gold. Click on the knight skeleton for extra iron. Look around regularly to see if there's more extra resources to collect.
Stormfall: Age of War
  • Build warehouses for holding gold and iron and barns for holding food. Make sure you upgrade them regularly so your production doesn't come to a stop when the capacity is full.
Stormfall: Age of War
  • Sapphires are special resources, which are earned rather than produced. Visit your castle every day, complete missions or buy extra sapphires with Facebook credits to train elite troops, purchase special items at the black market or build your defenses.
Stormfall: Age of War
  • Like the sapphires, Skull Runes are special resources earned through special events. Once a day, you can use these skull runes in the Obelisk of Power to upgrade certain statistics, such as the speed or build time of your troops.
Stormfall: Age of War
Building a strong kingdom
  • Much as the leaders often take credit for winning battles, it's the troops on the front line that make the difference. To train troops, visit the sentry house and indicate how many of which troops you want to train.
Stormfall: Age of War
  • There are offensive troops, such as Paladins and Pikemen, and defensive troops, such as archers and dwarfs. Although you can use both for attacking other bases, it's best not to risk your defensive troops on that unless you are really short on offensive troops.
Stormfall: Age of War
  • Make sure that when you send out troops to attack another base, you always leave troops behind to defend your castle. If you don't, the time it takes for your troops to travel to and from the battle field will leave your base vulnerable to attacks by other players. Aside from leaving behind defensive troops, build defensive structures around your base, such as a wall, towers, gates and defensive weapons.
Stormfall: Age of War
  • Once a day your scribe will have a new scroll for you, which enables you to research new Lost Arts and unlock new skills, troops and defenses. If you receive a scroll you already have, you can trade it at the market with other Lords.
Stormfall: Age of War
  • Check the Lost Arts' 'skill tree' to see which art can be unlocked next and choose wisely. Another very important thing to remember: do not forget to upgrade the unlocked skills regularly, as even the most mysterious arts are not very useful if not trained well.

Criminal Case Beginner’s Guide and Walkthrough facebook game

Welcome to the most complete Criminal Case Facebook game walkthrough on the internet. We dissect each different aspect and feature of this hidden-object social game so you can quickly grasp the concepts and start playing. Please share this guide if you found it useful or leave a comment if there’s anything you don’t yet understand about the game mechanics.

THE TOP BAR.

The top bar as usual contains all the counters, which are as follows;
  • XP Points: Represented by a badge icon, XP points are given after each task or entire case is completed. Of course, you level up by gathering these points.
  • Energy Bar: You use the energy to investigate crime scenes. Each crime scene play takes 20 energy points and a single one is restored every 2 minutes. You are granted bonus energy point for sending cards to your friends, and by playing the game daily, also if you select a game friend as a partner for any given crime scene investigation.
  • Coins: Coins are mainly used to customize your character. They are also granted after each task is solved.
  • Cash: Criminal Case cash is used to do instant autopsies, get reports and gives you access to exclusive items.
  • Stars: The most scarced and looked forward resource in the game. You gain stars by solving crime scenes. Each scene grants a total of 5 stars, so you can go back and play it until you get all of them (as long as you have the energy of course)

THE BOTTOM BAR.

The bottom bar gives you access to the most important features of the game. From left to right: The Tablet, Crime Scenes, Forensic Kit, Laboratory, Suspects and the Map

THE TABLET.

The tablet contains the current case being investigated and all the “missions” or tasks pending. It will tell you how advanced you are in the investigation and detail the victim, murdering weapon and the suspect, if identified.
You will be visiting Crime Scenes lots of times, and we mean a lot!. Crimes Scenes can and must be replayed since this is the may way you obtain stars, until you manage to solve them the first time, they remain as pending tasks in the tablet. Even though the crime scene is the same, the objects you need to find are not, and the finding sequence can change as well. However as they consume energy, you cannot play them indefinitely. The good thing is that if you play the same scene lots of times, you will end up getting high scores and bonus points because you will remember the objects location. The “clues”, which lead to other tasks within the case, only come up during the first investigation though. As you keep playing the same crime scene and max out the stars, possible bonus scenes may unlock. Even after the case is solved, it’s worth coming back for extra stars as well.
You will notice a sort of energy bar at the top that quickly drains right after you find an object. This is actually a time bar, which grants you extra coins and XP if you quickly find the next object in the sequence before the time bar drains out.
If you leave the cursor long enough on the object/clue at the bottom bar, a small image of the object, identical to the one on the scene, will help you find it, but the time will still be running, and the more time it takes you to figure out where the objects are, the less points you are given.
You can make use of hints your partner can give, he will give you a total of 5 per crime scene.
After each crime scene is solved, you will be presented with a leaderboard, where your performance in the crime scene is compared to your game friends and you’re given points, coins and stars accordingly.
Once you obtain all 5 stars in any given crime scene, is considered mastered, and you can keep playing it for just 5 energy points, but it doesn’t yield any more stars though.

LABORATORY.

Some autopsies and object analysis can take a lot of time. With the exception of the first case, you will have to wait a while before it’s done, this is where “Criminal Case Cash” comes in handy, to do instant analysis, reports and instant autopsies. This is where the game slows down as well, since stars are quite scarce and you cannot open additional missions or tasks without them. Autopsies are carried out by the game character. New clues and tasks are triggered after the lab job is finished.
